Teen number day Foundation Two

The children and staff came to school as their favourite teen number.

During busy time the children choose whether to paint, draw, decorate their chosen teen number.

Outside the children played teen number splat. They aimed for a number, had to recognise the number and do that many actions.

We have enjoyed the number story one is a snail and ten is a crab. The children helped to hang 11-20 cards in order on the washing line. They had to chose a number then think of something which matched this number from the book e.g a crab is 10 and a dog is 4 so that equals 14.

Independent activities the children had to choose from a selection of maths equipment to help them complete a number sense sheet. E.g ten frames, compare, white boards and pens and number sense sheets.

Foundation Stage Garden

Our garden started off small with the children planting strawberries and potatoes. Since they have taken really good care of our plants and were really excited about seeing them grow we have made the garden area bigger. Now we have herbs and we would love to grow more fruit and vegetables. If anybody would like to kindly donate plants and compost we promise to take really good of them.

Goldilocks is found in the woods. Foundation 2

Foundation two search the woods this morning looking for Goldilocks. The children wanted to ask her some questions about the crime scene at the three bears house yesterday.

In the distance the children heard someone crying who could it be?

They found her seated in the woods very upset. This is because she entered the bears house without permission and then breaking baby bear’s chair. Goldilocks apologised and now knows never to enter a strangers house. The children explained that she put herself into danger and she promises to try hard to make the right choices in future.

Crime Scene Investigation – Goldilocks in Foundation 2

In English we are enjoying the story Goldilocks and the three bears. Today Mrs McDonagh noticed that the Three Bears house had been taped off and somebody had entered without the Bears permission. Who could it had been?

We looked for clues and noticed that baby bears porridge had been eaten, that there were locks of golden coloured hair laying around the house. Baby bears chair had been broken and all the beds had been slept in.

The children decided that they think that Goldilocks had ran away into the woods. Tomorrow we will go and try find her.
